Ten reps at 60 kg on the bench is a common mark in the first months of lifting. At that point testing a true max does not make much sense: technique still changes from week to week and the risk is not worth it.
Ten reps is about the limit where these formulas stay useful. Past that, the error grows quickly. If your usual set is 12 or 15 reps, add some weight and use a set of 6 to 8 to estimate.
How this was calculated
Epley: 1RM = weight × (1 + reps / 30). It is an estimate, reliable up to about 10 reps taken close to failure. Brzycki (weight × 36 / (37 − reps)) is shown for contrast: if the two drift apart, the set had more reps than the formula handles well.
